Dazin is rated 3 out of 5 in the category renewables & environment. Read and write reviews about Dazin. Dazin provides an affordable and sustainable alternative to open-fire cooking, a major public health issue and driver of greenhouse gas emission and deforestation. We are presently working in Bhutan with our inclusive supply and distribution chain of smokeless stoves and fuel made from local forestry waste. Instead of burning the forestry waste in open cooking fires, rural households bring it to the Dazin Collection Points (CP). In exchange, they receive free Fuel Cookies with a gasifying stove on lease, which provides them with a smokeless, easy to use cooker & heater. This forestry waste is densified into Fuel Cookies in a local factory. Thanks to the high efficiency of our Fuel Cookies+Stove combination, leaving Dazin with leftover Fuel Cookies, which are sold on urban and commercial markets, providing revenue to cover the running costs and expand the benefits to new users. Following a highly successful pilot project, we are securing funding to scale-up our impact in 2015.
